Pluralsight: Learn Tech Skills App Reviews

Cannot use app

The app crashes if "start course " is clicked. Thus it cannot be used at all. This app is complete crap!

Instant Knowledge ... well done!!

I like the Pluralsight courses, because I dont want to waste my time by searching the whole internet for some webcasts, that cannot compete with their quality. And now I can enjoy them even on my iPad. You get the fifth star, when the publish date of each course is visible and could be used to order by. So I could see what is the newest content in general, and what is most recent for each category.

Ferrari with a sh**ty engine!

The new app is very cool and intuitive but is extremely slow to access the content.

The miserable user experience

The app doesnt offer a way to browse courses by the product, product version, level, subject, role or any other criteria. Instead, one first needs to search for something and only then you can filter the search results, but see below for the caveats. This makes it impossible to browse for e.g. all advanced courses for .net architects. It would be great if one could create a saved query like that and be notified when the new courses appear that meet the query criteria. Furthermore, the taxonomy used to filter the search results based on roles, tools, subjects to learn and certifications is a mess, there are many terms that offer no value at all, redundant terms, missing terms etc. which makes finding the right courses very difficult. Lastly, the app doesnt offer the learning path option that used to be available on the website, which was a great way to learn a complex subject by combining multiple courses in a particular order. All in all this app makes it very difficult to take the full advantage of the ever growing course collection and essentially needs a total rewrite of the course search/browse modules to be of any use.

Not Working

This app is not working I can not sign in or view any courses

Almosen Perfect

Great App with all the functionality I wish for. Only rare crashes every now and then need to be fixed. Though it has gotten much better with recent updates. Thanks

Easily Nr. 1

I have been using Pluralsight extensively for the past years . They have been updating their content, delivery methods and features continuously. The app is a good addition to an overall excellent experience. Happy to pay my subscription !

respect

many bugs fixed

UI gets better all the time!

I really enjoy the new table of content solution in this update!

Nice interface with lots of bugs

This app is not production ready. It crashes in the middle of video or when I rotate the screen. Also theres no way to view the videos offline. Wait for a stable release.

Great!

It works great on IPAD2. This is by far the best training course on earth. Not an exaggeration by any means. I mean I am getting a great deal from these courses and obviously there is always more I could learn if those were covered but you cannot cover everything in an online course.

Accout 30$/month

The app look good however you need tu pay 39$each month We are far from free stuff here

New version crashes on startup

The new version crashes on startup for my iPod Touch 2g iOS 4.2.1 The last version had no problems

Seriously? This was written by developer trainers??

The interface looks promising for about 10 seconds... Then you realize the catalog only displays in portrait mode while the pop-out dialogs all come out at 90 degree angles (landscape)...in front of the portrait catalog! Reorienting your device wont help, seem the app insists on throwing all fly out menus in the original orientation it was launched no matter how you reorient your device afterwards. Id love to tell you about the video quality, app interactivity and responsiveness... But all it does under when logged in is throw "unable to display video" errors. Im sure the irony of how poorly this app is written as a vehicle to deliver courseware for learning to program is lost on these folks but its complete lack of QA says "Stay away from this courseware vendor" loud and clear. If this is the quality of work you want to learn to produce as a budding app developer then by all means carry on...but I would strongly suggest your hard earned educational dollars can be put to far better use with a courseware vendor that is a little more concerned about the quality of its products.

Perfect tool for learning

The application is very responsive, fast and intuitive. I recommend it for everyone who want to learn with very dynamic tool.

Like it!

Thank you for creating this app!

Missing necessary functionalities

Application lack necessary features like you cant bookmark. I have access to limited courses but there is no way to filter only the courses I have access to.

Disappointing

This applications lacks so much basic functionalities, its almost useless.

Works great, love the offline feature

Love this app, works great, big improvement over previous versions. One thing this app and pluralsight provide that the competition doesnt is the offline modules. I love being able to store a course or two on my device for offline viewing. Great for long commutes, traveling or when your in a no service area. The quality of the course material is excellent and its constantly growing. You wont be disappointed with pluralsight content or this app.

Ideas to improve application

The application shows promise, but is still unpolished: - Management of offline content needs work (you have to download chapters individually, canceling a pending download crashes or hangs the application, etc.) - search feature could be improved - I havet figured out how to bookmark favorite/interesting topics for future viewing
