Pluralsight: Learn Tech Skills App Reviews

Perfect

One of the few apps I have where the app experience is as good as the full website experience. It also doesnt hurt theyre using native iOS code, instead of those awkward HTML5 apps. PluralSight is by far the best source for on-demand tech training. No complaints.

Great application design

I like how they have incorporated all of the web site functionality. Great user experience in reliable app. Excellent job!!!

Great update! Keep the content coming!

Latest update is fantastic! Ive been waiting for an update to make the paths easier to use on mobile and this really does it. To add the download experience is MUCH better than previous versions. Only request would be to ensure the path courses are up to date, some are good but a bit aged if you will :) Keep up the great work, Pluralsight!

Good value

I love Pluralsight. For the money you get tons of choices. Plus they are much cheaper than others. Great for professionals trying to add to their skill set. Keep up the good work!

Experts World.!!

I am always a beginner for technology, its a very good place to give a try, less cost and one stop for most of skill sets interested in development with updated versions, the best way of modular approach learning provided excercise files by authors. Awesome fun learning loved it..!!

Offline mode lacks common sense

The only reason I downloaded this was to watch videos on the subway underground when I had no service. I got the app, downloaded the course I wanted to watch the night before, and thought I was all set. However, when I opened the app the next morning on the subway platform, the homescreen told me I didnt have internet and should try later when I was connected. No kidding I dont have internet... thats the entire reason I downloaded the course before hand instead of just directly streaming it. Whats the point of being able to download a course for "offline" viewing later, if you cant even navigate within the app when youre... offline? Whoever designed this app needs to watch some software design for UI/UX courses on Pluralsight.com (definitely not offline), and learn how to design software that actually makes sense. (Plural sight is awesome, btw, which is a big reason why this app is such a huge disappointment)

Good Value

Pluralsight is on the expensive side. I believe it is worth the expense if you put forth the effort to learn. The class selection is good.

Love It

I got a free membership from Pluralsight and this makes it even better because I can now go anywhere and continue studying. :D

Good app, no more individual downloads?

After the update, I cant figure out how to download course episodes without downloading the entire chapter. Please fix.

Huge improvement!

Significantly better than the previous version. Im looking forward to using it more.

Drains Battery on iPad Air 2

I never write reviews for apps so this is a first. Battery on my iPad Air 2 was drained twice after running pluralsight app. I checked battery usage and pluralsight app was identified as the culprit. Please fix it. I also found skipping videos that I downloaded.

Love it

Knowledge on the go! A huge library of courses.

Videos load VERY slowly

I just wait but the class material takes longer to download than the length of the video when played.

Great content if you could watch it

"An error occurred loading this video. Please try again." Thats about as much video as youll ever get to watch.

Unusable on iOS 7.1.2

Please fix updating catalog in IOS 7.1.2. Cannot login with corporate account. 40min to update on Wifi/fiber. It is not usable. Buy a new phone to use this app to upgrade to IOS 9? Nope I used to give this app 5star.

5 stars for the content

The apps not perfect, I sometimes run into "this video could not be loaded" even with a good Internet connection. However, the content on Pluralsight is outstanding!

F I X. T H I S. J U N K !!!!!!!

And we are to trust your advice on how to make iOS apps??? Update Apr. 30 2016- I have added a star to my review for the effort the company is now making to get this app to run right. I was contacted and asked if I would talk to the development team and then be a beta tester trying to fix their off line content issues. As much as I appreciate the effort. I just do not have the time. Update Apr. 15 2016 - Another claim that downloaded apps will not disappear. What is is that they say... Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me the next 5 releases, shame on me again, I am no long willing to trust that the app will cache offline data. It was never by design as you now claim- so shame on you. Update Feb 24 2016 - I thought we were ok, but today when I needed the downloaded courses the most for a delayed train and an opportunity to learn, they were gone... AGAIN!!!! Why, why, why, cant you get this thing to work correctly? FIRE YOUR CURRENT Developers and higher some of your video makers!!! Update- Jan 22 2016 - Do the developers at PluralSight know they are allowed to update their app? I am on the train again with an empty video download area. I download 2 series earlier today. Watch 40 minutes of one over lunch. Jumped on the train ready to continue and once again.... NOTHING!!!! Update- Jan 14 2016 - Still junk. Every other time I open it my downloaded courses are gone. This is very aggregating and makes the app useless. I take the time to download on wireless to save data, but it does me no good because every time I go to watch a video it is gone. You can just dump the app and watch them online. It serves no purpose but except one - caching courses locally and it simply does not work. Update- Nov 3 2015 - so they get it to the point it will play videos, but now they added an airplay option which we cant turn off so the app thinks everything is an AirPlay device, including all my Bluetooth speakers. STILL WORTHLESS!!!!

AirPlay doesnt work

I was excited to use this app with AppleTv AirPlay but it doesnt work at all.

Frustrating experience

Like many others have voiced, like the content, hate the buggy app. Id be happy if course modules would play continuously in order without having to go back to module list and pick the next module and then reselect playback speed. At least the previous version got that part right. Finding courses was easier too. For the price of the content subscription, I expect better quality app experience, especially from an org that teaches app development.

No auto play next track

The old app used to automatically move to the next track after I finished playing one. I think it will if I watched the course from beginning to end, but I jump around a lot for topics that Im interested in, or skip over things I already know.
