The Pluralsights mobile delivery is a comical tragedy. The comedy is that a company which its only job is delivering multimedia training for the latest technologies has not been able to develop a proper mobile solution using an eight year old technology. The tragedy is that these poorly delivered high-end training contents were created by one the most knowledgable group of experts in the industry. Their excellent products do not deserve this poor delivery. This is a sad situation and I am not able to understand why this was allowed to happen repeatedly for such a long period of time. Would you please at least borrow or copy the Lynda.coms mobile solution? I should admit that compare to the old design this new version was a progress. The old app was the only iOS application which could hang my iPads forever until a hard reboot. This new app has a button to stop the constant hanging. Thank you for that! I am sure in the following decade you will add some features to make the Course Resume finds the last played clip correctly, play clips sequentially, mark the already played clips, show which clip is playing, allow browsing all courses, categorizing courses ... and other unimportant features like these. Good luck!
Useless trying to output to Apple TV.
Keep spinning even on downloaded video. Could not login after the upgrade
We need some updates for the look & the feel of this App!
As a new member for plural sight I an quite disappointed with the iPad app. Videos are very slow to buffer (I am on very fast internet). Videos don’t properly go to the next video o between lessons, I have to exit the course and re-select a course and then the video will play. Quite disappointed. Do not intend on renewing my subscription unless there are future changes. Sad, because I am actually like this service much than Lynda.com, there are some courses that you guys have such as Raphael.JS that Lynda does not have.
The app video player often stalls between modules forcing you to go back to the course TOC and then resume... Very annoying and disruptive considering that most modules are between 2 to 5 mins in length. The app also forgets your playback speed when you go back to the TOC, further compounding this annoying behaviour as you constantly have to readjust the playback speed. Please fix the buggy playback and this will become a 5 star rating.
Even if a video is downloaded, it can take 5 or 10 minutes to start because the app has to contact Pluralsights anemic server infrastructure. Or it might just not work at all. Try again later. Very, very annoying.
Downloaded the latest, tried to resume courses already in progress on LTE connection, videos would not start in under 10 seconds.
Streaming is very slow through app and course doesnt continue to next video. I have to wait for few minutes before stream starts on chrome cast and Apple TV. Please fix these bugs.
Use it all the time for my work training, extremely helpful. The app works great, most of the bugs I have found are gone. And it mimics the site design perfectly. Keep up the great work, and continue to refine the user experience.
I can watch HD video on YouTube, Vimeo, and Netflix, but buffering here is slower than a snail going uphill. Also crashes between each 5 minute video segment "Cant load video." Good thing its only $50/month. I think Ill skip the app development courses though. P.s. Its been like this for almost a year.
App is promising. However developer needs to fix issues with getting Chromecast to work.
First thanks for ipad applications but it still need to develop My advices: 1. Show bookmarked and last viewed courses 2. Add bookmark clips, modules and cources 3. Slow video speed
If you implement "you watched this course" on catalog screen, the app will be perfect...
your application has something wrong. İt always show update catolog and it continuenued till 15-20 minutes .
Hey pluralsight, I think you should watch mobile development tutorials.
Everthing works fine except subtitle , please add subs option
The app is very simple. Sure you can view the courses but it falls short on any other features one might need when seriously treating professional training like: - remembering last open course after you close app so that you can go back to it quickly - searching the catalogue, or sorting by release date ...anything for user to allow easier finding stuff - not mentioning a list of favorite /planned courses -this you cant do either. its just too simple. K.
After update on 5th March it crasch immediately on login screen :( please fix this fast, Ipad first generation
